How do you think 'The Lark Ascending' on piano would sound?

Given that it works so beautifully on the violin and is so violinistically written, I think it would lose a lot being played on the piano. Remember, the piano has no sustain - once struck, the note dies straight away. Therefore, those lovely legato, sustained high violin lines will sound pretty awful on the piano. I dread to think what old Vaughan Williams would think!
