Why are jews condemned for the death of Jesus if...?

You are absolutely correct, and blaming Jews for killing Jesus is just like blaming Americans for Abraham Lincoln's asination. Yes, Judas was a Jew, but then again, so was Jesus himself. In fact, all of the first converts to Christianity, including the apostles, were Jews. The early Christians tried converting the rest of the Jews to Christianity, but the Jews didn't want to convert because they didn't believe that Jesus was the Messiah. So then the Christians called the Jews traitors, and somehow, by the time it got written down, people thought that the Jews were responsible for the death of Jesus.
