HP Pavillion dv2000 series notebook overheating at 100C!!!?

As the computer gets older, dust and other gunk can build up inside the notebook. This can prevent air from getting to parts of the inside, like the processor. Because the heat can't dissipate, the processor or other chips overheat and shut down/throttle back. Try using some compressed air to clean out the fans. If it is still really hot, you can buy external coolers that go under the notebook and are powered by USB.
