Why do you think the Iowa decision is so important?
Iowa really isn't that conservative for a rural Midwestern state. I don't think it's a slam dunk that this is going to get repealed - especially given that their lengthy process for amending their constitution means that there are going to be a lot of marriages performed before anything happens. It was a unanimous decision too, unlike California's and the Republican appointed justices voted along with the Dem appointees. That, and the fact that this is in the heartland and not the liberal coast is going to carry some weight I think. I'm cautiously optimistic on this one.
